Triple Berry Sauce

Based on Chuck's Triple Berry Pie with Cardamom and Lattice Crust from Bake Space

1 c blueberries
1 c raspberries
1 c blackberries, strawberries, or tart cherries
1/4 c sugar, to taste
1/8-1/4 tsp ground cardamom
1/8-1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
splash of lemon juice (maybe about 1 tsp)

Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until it looks about right. Taste and adjust sugar and seasonings. I have occasionally added cornstarch to make it thicker, if I felt the urge, but it doesn't really need it.

Serve warm over pancakes or waffles or, well, anything that sounds good to you.
