Lorie’s Tomato Jam

(Note: I'm poking around the web looking at designs to inspire my personal website, and I ran across this recipe, which sounds interesting and more importantly, easy.)

2 (14-ounce) cans petite diced tomatoes
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 tsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, pressed
1 T dried basil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1 T Worcestershire sauce
1 T tomato paste
3 T sugar
1/2 c dry red wine

Add the olive oil and onions to a medium size skillet over medium high heat and cook until they begin to caramelize.

Add remaining ingredients and continue cooking, stirring often, until mixture is thick and no liquid remains, about 25 minutes.

Serve with crusty bread and Parmesan cheese if desired.
